This particular Market Basket doesn't have the freshest meat or cold cuts. The fresh fruits and vegetables are usually tired or not ripe. If you go to one of their upscale stores in a better location you will see the difference.

Prices are okay. The deli smells of death.

I got to the deli tonight at 8:35 to find a line and the ticket dispenser empty. The store closes at 9:00. There were only a couple of people working in the deli, one who I recognized as the supervisor. I was in line for approximately 10 minutes when the supervisor announced that if you didn't have a ticket you wouldn't be waited on. When people who had been waiting in line complained, she stated that she had been there since 8:00 that morning and was tired. I feel that they could of at least put up a sign so customers wouldn't waste time standing in line. So much for customer service. I was a long term, loyal customer of Leominster's Market Basket, but won't be going back.

The prices are very good (but compare quality and prices on an item-by-item basis) but the produce is sometimes rotten, so check it carefully before purchasing. I bought organic broccoli a couple weeks ago, and when I brought it home and started to cut it up, I found inner branches with black mold on them and rotting. It wasn't a lot, but it ruined my appetite. I thought MB would be interested in knowing they're selling rotted produce, but a lovely customer service rep told me she noticed the same problem with some produce she had purchased at Hannaford (that should have been a clue!). Today I came home with a head of romaine lettuce and ended up throwing out 18 outer leaves - with areas of black or brown slime. All that's left are a few small, pale leaves in the inner core. Same problem with the brussel sprouts - even sprouts that looked fine on the outside revealed large blackened spots underneath. I don't know about you, but black/brown slimy rotting food ruins my appetite. Even the top of the cored fresh pineapple was spoiling. I would only buy produce that you can inspect completely. And even though the CS rep is very nice, I think I'll be getting my produce at other supermarkets from now on. THIS COSTS MONEY and I DON'T LIKE WASTING FOOD!! P.S. I bought Romaine lettuce at Hannaford the following week, and it's fine!

A classic in Leominster has become even better. With the takeout food & "marketplace" dining area. Great option for healthy food and a quick stop. They offer sushi, pizza, salads, chicken, fries, turkey, pasta salads and then there are the pre-made cold meals that you can heat up right there. Then don't forget to enjoy an ice cream, coffee, donut or dessert. Groceries are usually inexpensive and I like the fresh produce.
