I'm weaving through the appeals process- the claims rep from my insurance company was appalled at this story, and is working to clear the bill up.
But honestly, if you need basic urgent care, go to CVS or another urgent care center. This place verges on insurance fraud.
Ended up going to CVS minute clinic for $100 out the door.
BEWARE of this "urgent care center". I went there because I had symptoms of strep throat. They told me that they accepted HMO Blue and took my copay. I waited over an hour, and then met for a few minutes with an aide who checked my vitals, and then with a provider, who spent less than 5 minutes with me. They checked my rapid strep test, and sent me on my way.
A month later, I received 2 seperate bills- one for the provider (WachusettEmergency), in the amount of 350.00. She billed for a 30 minute visit. I received another bill from Health Alliance Hospital for a "facility charge" and for the lab tests. That bill was for $411.00.
went there yesterday 10/13/16 with my 6 month old baby with a 104.6 temp and had my service refused by the secretary. not one person tried to help
I went here yesterday with my 6 year old. We had just got to great wolf Lodge and she was having flu symptoms and her Fever was up over 102°. We went to the urgent care leominster, after getting in the room we waited over 30 minutes. But once the doctor came in she was so nice and caring with my daughter and asked me if I wanted to do the flu and strep tests which she explained to me very clearly. After she did them as gently as she could and she came back with the results saying it was the flu, she sent the prescription over and sent us on our way. She was so nice her name was Andrea mendillo
better watch out, they overbill and no way to fight it.
I am in between jobs and waiting for my medical insurance to start the first of the year. Went in with strep and I asked what the cost was to see someone. The only response was "very expensive" and I could talk to someone about payment plans. How can you talk payment plans if you have no written price list for procedures? I understand it's hard to put a fix price on a service but there should be a ball park price and at least fixed items like it will cost this much to see someone should be pretty easy to do.
