Had to wait a bit. They need to update their booths. Server was friendly and attentive. Food was good
Recently re-opened following an equipment upgrade, the restaurant was quite busy when we visited. In spite of that, we were greeted, promptly seated, and had our beverage order taken. I was quite satisfied with my coffee and short stack of pancakes. The cakes were light, fluffy and slightly sweet. My companion ordered a half-serving of country fried steak, eggs, hash browns and toast. Our server explained that the kitchen had erroneously prepared a full order, but we would be charged only for the half that was ordered. The steak was perfectly prepared with a nice, peppery country gravy. The eggs, hash browns and toast were all tasty and properly prepared. The short closing and new menu seem to have energized this place and we'll gladly return.
Staff were civil, friendly and polite. Pleasant atmosphere, filling portion sizes. Good variety in the menu with healthy food options. The breakfast skillets are a good way to start the day, paired with juice, and a cup of coffee or hot tea. It can get busy at certain times during the day ( Breakfast rush, sometimes during Lunch, Dinner rush) , but it's definitely worth any wait for an affordable, delicious and quick meal when you're out and about.
Dinning area is run down and needs updating.
Dennys was a place where I knew that I could get an inexpensive diner quality meal without much hassle. I was very disappointed with some of the changes that were made since my last visit. Apparently the prices have doubled but the quality of the food and food selection declined. To add insult to injury, now when you pay, you are forced to pay at the registered where the machine demands a tip of no less than 18%. I don't like being forced to tip. And if I do tip (which I usually do) I want to know that all of it goes to my wait staff. If I want to hand my waitress a 10 for a great job, she shouldn't have to split it with anyone. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because my waitress today was fantastic and I really wanted to give her a 10 which would have been a a 50% tip. too bad Dennys had to stick its hand in the till. Sad, very sad.
The good news they're always open and the staff are nice!
